Old Commotion—May 2025

Old Commotion is the latest release from Jared Klok—a six-track collection that blends dry humour, long-glance lyricism, and quietly cinematic arrangements. Recorded and produced by Bob Hamilton at Old Crow Studios in Whitehorse, the album drifts between saloon waltzes, ambient pedal steel, and weather-worn country.

From the existential shuffle of Searching for My Toes to the soft-spoken tenderness of Mud, Old Commotion settles into the cracks between folk, country, and spaghetti-noir.

Collage featuring a person with a guitar, abstract patterns, and a hand holding a border with text "Alex MacNeil, Far Out Man." Black and white with some colored elements.

Far Out Man—April 2025

Far Out Man is a five-song jolt of indie powerpop from Dawson City’s Alex MacNeil and The Revenants. Channeling the wide-eyed shimmer of 60s psych-pop through a modern garage filter, the EP delivers bright hooks, sharp turns, and a sideways grin. It’s fun without being fluffy, nostalgic without getting stuck in the past.

MacNeil—longtime contributor to Canada’s DIY rock fabric—leads a seasoned northern quartet that knows how to balance melodic sugar with a little grime.

From the organ-soaked strut of The Oxford to the dreamy swirl of Pasteis De Nata, Far Out Man is the sound of a band shaking off the frost and hitting stride—playful, confident, and ready for repeat spins.
